Interested in volunteer work with global and local impact? Rotary is a great way to put structure to your good intentions while building leadership skills and networks. We invite you to sample Tonic: Rotary After Five.

We’re a contemporary club formed in 2016. Meeting times and formats (twice per month for one hour) have been streamlined to adapt to today’s new business culture. We focus more on outcomes than ceremony, while honouring the Four Way Test and the Rotary mantra of “Doing Good in the World.”

We are looking for members who will be engaged and focused and ready to hit the ground running through meaningful and effective contributions. We welcome members from all walks of life, communities and cultures.

Tonic: Rotary After Five members work on alleviating food insecurity in Hamilton, providing business leadership to local organizations, guiding at-risk youth to meaningful work, and supporting scholars around the world. This is just a sampling of all that we’re involved in.

We are flexible and open to new ideas and ways of doing things. Join us – and make your mark!

Our Meetings

We meet the first and third Wednesday of each month from 5:30-6:30 pm, with an optional “happy half hour” socializing time from 5 to 5:30.

In 2022 we have one meeting per month that is hybrid (both in-person and via Zoom), and one solely by Zoom. Our in-person meeting location is at the stunning, newly renovated Westinghouse HQ on Sanford Street North. Outside of meeting times we work both independently and in teams on our community service projects.

Cost of Membership

In 2022 it costs $300 annually to belong to Tonic Rotary After Five. The amount is pro-rated, so members joining mid-year pay $150 (the Rotary year runs July 1-June 30). This cost includes an annual donation to Rotary International for which members receive a tax receipt.
